How much am I paying for my monthly subscriptions?

We’ve written before about the dangers of the subscription economy. In this article we listed some reasons why you, and many people around you, might have to be concerned about your subscriptions. We hope we’ve opened your eyes and you won’t be falling for the subscription traps others have fallen for. Are you now a proud owner of an overview of all the subscriptions you have? And are you aware how much these subscriptions are costing you monthly? No? Well here are two ways to do so:

Create and overview of your subscriptions
  1. Manually by using this checklist
  2. Automatically by pairing Dyme with your bank statements

1. Create an overview of your subscriptions with this convenient checklist

The Dutch institute for budgeting advice (The Nibud) researches many financial matters, as well as informing people about spending and how to manage it.

The Nibud has come up with a checklist to create an overview of your monthly expenses. Download their subscription checklist through their website and fill it in with your own details.

The difference between the Nibud overview and the Dyme overview is that the latter requires no manual labour whatsoever. Through a heavily secured and encrypted connection Dyme filters your subscriptions from your bank statements. Which means you can save a lot of time and effort!

Make sure to do an annual check

Regardless of what method you use, it’s advised to go over your bank statements every year. This will ensure you don’t overlook any unnecessary expenses.
