Cordaid integrity policy
When donating money to a charitable organisation, you’ll want to know what your money is spent on. It’s hard to check this. You want your money to go to the people who need it most, but worry that it’s used to enhance the directors bank account.
How much does Cordaids director earn? In the case of Cordaid, there’s no need to worry. Cordaid easily meets the requirements set up by several norms and codes for charities as required by Dutch law. Moreover, in 2011 Cordaid won the so called ‘Transparency Prize’, awarded to transparent companies.
In line with this transparency, you can find exactly how much director Kees Zevenbergen gross annual pay amounts to: €118.068. Which is a lot less than the norm set by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This norm dictates that a charity director is not allowed to earn more than a ministry director-general. So, cancelling your Cordaid subscription out of fear that your money doesn’t end up with the right people, is not needed.
